A SACRED RETURN

A Gentle Return to Creativity, Healing and Purpose

(3 Part Blog Series)

Blog Post: A Sacred Return. Part 1: Divine Delay

Part One: The Divine Delay

A Season of Surrender, Healing and Soft Reawakening

After a pause from coaching and blogging, I’m returning slowly—with honesty and softness. For me life recently called for stillness, reflection, and healing. If you’ve been in a season like that too, this series is for you.

There are moments—especially in midlife—when everything seems to pause.

Not with ease, but with a kind of stuck heaviness.

The to-do lists doesn’t get done. The ideas stall. The energy disappears.

You may be holding:

  • The invisible labor of motherhood

  • The rising tide of menopausal symptoms

  • Family stress and caregiving

  • Work or a business that isn’t moving the way you hoped

  • A longing to return to yourself, but not knowing how

If you feel like you’ve hit an internal pause, I want to tell you something:

This is not a failure. This is a nervous system response.

And in many ways, it’s an invitation.

Wisdom in the Freeze

When life becomes overwhelming—emotionally, physically, hormonally—our nervous system can enter what’s known as a freeze state.

This might look like:

  • Feeling unmotivated even though you care deeply

  • Not knowing what to prioritize

  • Avoiding things you used to love

  • Experiencing fogginess, low energy, or flatness

It’s the body’s way of saying: “Too much. Too fast. Too long.”

This is especially common in midlife, when the body is undergoing deep hormonal shifts and identity transitions.

You’re Not Alone, and You’re Not Broken

This pause—this frozen feeling—doesn’t mean you’ve lost your spark or your voice.

It means your system is asking for gentleness, nourishment, and new rhythms.

You don’t have to force your way forward.

You can start again slowly. Softly. With grace.

What’s Next: A Gentle Path Forward

In my next blog post, I’ll share how I began to shift—one breath, one moment, one tiny act at a time.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Redefine what progress means in midlife

  • Create space for your creative voice again

  • Move forward without pressure or hustle

For now, here are a few questions to sit with:

Journal Prompts:

  • Where in my life or business/career do I feel frozen?

  • What is my body asking for right now?

  • What would it look like to start again gently?

If you’re in a season of stillness, know this: your pause has wisdom. It’s here not to punish you, but to protect and prepare you.

You’re not failing—you’re feeling.

You’re not lost—you’re being reshaped.

Midlife can be a tender threshold, and what may seem like delay is often sacred timing. Honor the pace your body and spirit need. Trust that something beautiful is quietly re-forming beneath the surface.

There is no rush.

There is only the next small, kind step.

I invite you to return next time as I share the soft, simple shifts that helped me begin again.

Until then, be gentle with yourself. You’re doing more than enough.

If this resonated with you, stay close. Part 2 will be about slow steps back to flow—how to rebuild creative rhythm and clarity one small action at a time.
